Where has June gone?! As you are reading this Aaron and I are probably packing our bags and on our way to the airport. We are headed out to Austin, Texas for the 12th Annual ISSN Conference & Expo. I’m definitely excited to hear all of the different speakers and to network with other like-minded professionals, but what I may be even more excited about is all of the food trucks and adventures we are going to undertake! We have a bunch of friends and family that have visited Austin, and with their help I have compiled a list of What to do in Austin Texas.
If you remember, one of my goals for 2015 was to travel more. I had my eyes set on New York, California or Washington State this year, but it looks like Texas, Georgia and Tennessee are on my horizon instead. I’m not complaining though! It’s way more than I traveled last year! We are staying an extra day in Austin and catching a later flight so we get to enjoy more of the city 🙂
What to Do in Austin Texas
- Torchy’s Tacos
- Franklin Barbecue
- South Congress for shopping and food
- Paddle boarding on the river
- 6th street night life
- Zilker Park picnicking
- Music Venues on Red River
- Salt Lick in Driftwood is supposed to have really delicious blackberry cobbler
- Hamilton Pool (if open)
- Chuy’s where they are known for their creamy jalapeño dip
- Bat watching on Congress Ave Bridge at Sunset
- Magnolia Cafe for breakfast
With so many things revolving around food, I’m bringing workout clothes with me in the hopes that we will hit up the hotel’s gym at least a couple of times while we are there to minimize the backlash on all of the progress I have made in the last few weeks. Also we will be doing plenty of walking while we are in the city so that will help as well.
I will probably be absent from my blog from today until Monday, but I will be active on my social media accounts Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so be sure to check those out if you want to know what we are up to in Austin!
Have you been to Austin before? If so what are your must do’s in the city?
