Tips & Tricks for making Chicken Breasts on the Blackstone Griddle

Don’t be shy with seasonings! I just used salt, pepper and paprika. You can really use any seasonings to make this delicious chicken recipe on the griddle.

Optionally add lime juice, lemon juice, chili powder, lime juice – it all depends on what flavor profile you’re trying to achieve.

For an Asian flair season with teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder and ginger and then top with a little sesame oil, sliced green onions and sesame seeds after the chicken is finished cooking.

Any way you season it, everyone will love these Blackstone seared chicken breasts. They just cook so well on the griddle.

Substitutions

If you don’t have boneless skinless chicken breasts available, you can also use chicken breast filets, chicken cutlets, chicken tenders, or boneless skinless chicken thighs.

If you use bone in chicken breasts or split chicken breasts, you won’t be able to butterfly them so they will take longer to cook.

Stovetop Directions

If you don’t have a Blackstone griddle or similar griddle, you can make this recipe on the stove. First get a large cast iron skillet or frying pan.

Heat the cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add avocado oil to the skillet once hot. Then add the chicken breasts.

Cook for 5-6 minutes each side.

Check the internal temperature of the chicken and remove.

What to serve with griddled chicken breast

These pair great with many different side dishes, but I loves serving it with Blackstone Green Beans! You can also serve it with these Blackstone Brussel sprouts with bacon or Blackstone Zucchini to make it a complete meal.

You can also serve it with this Cilantro Lime Cauliflower Rice recipe or Instant Pot Basmati Rice.

Fancy a dipping sauce? Serve it with this Keto BBQ Sauce, ranch or honey mustard. Any are a great option!

teriyaki chicken tenders, fried rice and teriyaki vegetables on a white plate

If you have leftover rice, you can add some honey paleo teriyaki sauce and frozen vegetables to the grill like I did in this Blackstone Chicken Tender Recipe.

How to store

Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 5 days. I typically use glass containers to store food in or meal prep, but they were all in use.

How to reheat

If you’re using a glass meal prep container, remove the lid and microwave on high for 1 to 1.5 minutes or until chicken is warm. You may also transfer the chicken to a microwave safe plate to warm up.

FAQs

How long do you cook chicken breasts on a griddle?

Cook your chicken for 5-6 minutes per side.

How do you keep chicken moist on a Blackstone Grill?

Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken breast. Once it reaches 165F remove from the griddle. Make sure to not over cook the chicken, this ensure it is moist and juicy!

Can you fry chicken on a Blackstone griddle?

Yes, of course! You can either “pan fry” these chicken breasts by adding a bunch of oil to The Blackstone or some people like to use aluminum foil pans and place oil in those and deep fry chicken on the griddle.

What temperature do I cook chicken breast on a griddle?

Preheat your griddle to medium-high heat.

I used boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of chicken breast and it turned out really juicy and delicious. One of my favorite chicken recipes so far.
