These Air Fryer Radishes are incredibly easy to make and require only a few ingredients. They're a great low carb and low calorie side dish. They also spruce up your plate with color!

If you're looking for a low-carb alternative to potatoes, radishes are a great option! When cooked in the air fryer, they become crispy and delicious.

Not only are radishes a great potato substitute, but they're also low in carbs and high in fiber. This makes them a great option for those counting their carbs or following a clean keto diet.

They're also easy to prepare, and the air fryer makes them crispy and delicious. Plus, they add a pop of color and flavor to any meal!

Ingredients

  • Radishes - I had a bag of radishes with the stems already removed, but you can buy a bunch of radishes that still have the leaves and just trim them off.
  • Seasonings: avocado oil, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Radish Nutrition

Radishes are a member of the Brassicaceae family, which also includes other vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower. These red radishes are also referred to as table radishes.

The spicy flavor of radishes comes from compounds called isothiocyanates, which are also found in other cruciferous vegetables.

How to make Air Fryer Radishes

  1. Cut the ends off of the radishes and then cut them into quarters. Add them to a large bowl.
  2. Top with oil and spices and coat evenly.
  3. Transfer the radishes to the air fryer basket. Cook for 14 minutes at 390F and shake them halfway.
  4. Optional sprinkle the radishes with parmesan cheese at the 12-minute mark.

Coat evenly

Stovetop Directions

If you don't have an air fryer, you can always make this recipe with your stovetop.

Heat the avocado oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Once the skillet is hot place the cut radishes on the skillet.

Top with the seasonings. Cook, stirring occasionally, until radishes are browned and tender.

Substitutions

If you don't have any radishes on hand, you can use turnips, jicama, or other low carb root vegetables. You can also play around with the seasonings to create different flavor profiles. For example, try adding some cumin or chili powder for a Mexican twist.

If you like cheese, you can add some parmesan cheese near the end of the cooking process for delicious cheesy Parmesan radishes.

What to serve with Air Fryer Radishes

Air fryer radishes are a versatile side dish that pairs well with a variety of meals. Serve these delicious Air fried radishes with a delicious air fryer ribeye or even these air fryer frozen chicken thighs.

How to store

Store leftover radishes in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

How to reheat

Remove the lid from the container or transfer it to a microwave-safe plate. Microwave for 60-90 seconds on high. You can also place them back in the Air Fryer for 3-4 minutes at 390F.
