Tips & Tricks to make Perfect Grilled Asparagus

First off, I’ve grilled asparagus many many times, and thicker is always better. Especially on the Blackstone grill!

It’s the key to having crunchy delicious asparagus every time.

This also goes true if you’re roasting asparagus or air frying asparagus. Thick asparagus leads to nice crunchy spears and thin asparagus will lead to floppy, over cooked asparagus.

Another rule of thumb is to test a large asparagus spear when they start to char on the grill. If it’s al dente texture, then they’re done and it’s time to remove them.

You don’t want over cooked griddled asparagus!

Stovetop Directions

If you don’t have a grill, griddle or flat top grill you can make this grilled asparagus on the stove!

Grab a cast iron skillet or grill pan. Heat it to medium high heat. Add the contents of the baggie (in a single layer). If you have a small pan, you may need to do this in batches.

Cook for 5-6 minutes until the asparagus has a nice char and are al dente in texture.

What to serve with grilled asparagus

Asparagus is one of those delicious low carb vegetables that go with almost any main dish! Personally I served my asparagus with this Blackstone pork chop recipe.
