  • Quick and easy recipe – make perfectly cooked salmon in about 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • Salmon filets – for this recipe I used raw salmon filets, but you can also use frozen salmon and let it defrost over night in the refrigerator.
  • Paleo Teriyaki Sauce – this recipes uses my homemade paleo teriyaki sauce recipe. If you don’t want to make a teriyaki sauce, you can use your favorite store bought brand.

Tips & tricks for making the best salmon

Be sure not to over cook the salmon! Use a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should be at 145F. For the most accurate reading, stick thermometer into the thickest part of the salmon.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket with salmon. Use filets that are evenly cut and not different sizes.

  • Air Fryer – my favorite is this Cosori Air Fryer because of the large air fryer basket.

How to make Salmon in the Air Fryer

  1. First, baste the salmon with 2 tablespoons of the paleo teriyaki sauce
  2. Next transfer the salmon to the air fryer basket
  3. Cook at 400 F for 4 minutes. Then baste the salmon with the remaining teriyaki sauce.
  4. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145F.

Oven Directions

Preheat oven to 400F. Place the salmon into a baking dish. Then baste the salmon with the teriyaki sauce.

Next, cook the salmon for 12-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145F.

Substitutions

If you do not have fresh salmon, you can always substitute it for frozen salmon. Just let the salmon defrost in the fridge over night.

What to serve with Air Fryer Paleo Teriyaki Salmon

I like to serve this Teriyaki Salmon with my Instant Pot Mashed Cauliflower and a homemade salad topped with all my favorite toppings.

You can also this Air Fryer Teriyaki Salmon with Air Fryer Spaghetti Squash instead of rice for a healthy meal. If you’re not trying to watch your carb intake, try it with this Instant Pot basmati rice or Grilled Blackstone Acorn Squash

How to store Salmon

Store leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to 2 days. A great idea would to eat these leftovers for lunch the day after cooking it for dinner.

How to reheat

Reheat the leftover salmon in the microwave for quickest results. Remove the lid of the airtight storage container or transfer to a plate and cook for 1.5-2 minutes.

    I normally make teriyaki salmon under the broiler, but after trying your air fryer recipe I will not do it any other way! The salmon was flaky and flavourful and not at all dry
