Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage

Making these Breakfast Sausage in the air fryer means that you can have a protein based breakfast in the morning with no hassle. The Air Fryer keeps these Breakfast Sausages crispy and flavorful.

Just pair these breakfast sausage links with some eggs (scrambled, omelet or even hard boiled, all of which you can make in your air fryer) for an easy low carb breakfast.

If you like air fryer recipes, then you need to try this Juicy Air Fryer Ribeye Steak and this Air Fryer T-bone Steak. Both are protein packed air fryer recipes and naturally low in carbohydrates.

Why you’ll love this easy Breakfast Sausage recipe

  • Keto recipe – this recipe has 11g of protein per serving with NO carbs! Just make sure your sausage doesn’t have any added sugars, fillers or preservatives which may have hidden carbs.
  • Simple recipe – these air fryer breakfast sausages have only one ingredient that you can find at your local grocery store.
  • Easy recipe -it takes less then 15 minutes start to finish and you don’t have to worry about grease splattering everywhere or hovering over the stove.

Ingredients

  • Sausage Links – looks for ones without sugar, preservatives or weird fillers.

Tips & Tricks

Make sure to add the breakfast sausage into the air fryer so they are not touching. This will prevent the breakfast sausage from sticking together so that they cook evenly.

Make sure that you are cooking the breakfast sausage to the proper temperature. The internal temperature should reach 160F.

Tools to make this easy recipe

Air Fryer – my favorite is this Cosori Air Fryer because of the large air fryer basket.

How to make Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage

  1. Transfer the sausage links to the air fryer basket. Make sure you leave room between them. (depending on your air fryer and how many you do, you may need to do it in batches.)
  2. Cook at 390F for 390F for 10 minutes. Flipping them halfway through.
  3. Once the timer goes off remove the sausage links from the air fryer basket and serve.

Stovetop Directions

If you do not have an air fryer, no worries. You can cook these on the skillet instead.

  1. Heat skillet to medium low heat.
  2. Once the skillet is heated up, place breakfast sausage onto the pan.
  3. Cook for 12-16 minutes or until cooked through and browned, turning often.

Substitutions

If you do not have sausage links, you can also try frozen turkey sausage or sausage patties. You can even get a tube of sausage and cut them into sausage patties. I’ve done this plenty of times and often it’s cheaper!

What to serve with Keto Breakfast Sausage

A good ole country breakfast can be served with these Scrambled eggs on the Blackstone and Blackstone Bacon. You can also stick to the air fryer with this Crispy Air Fryer Bacon.

We served this with a little bit of local Michigan Maple Syrup (only a little to keep carbs low) and some sugar free ketchup.

If you are looking to keep this meal keto, then you can serve this with Easy Keto Hash Brown.

How to store

Store these Air Fryer Breakfast Sausage in an airtight container up to 4-5 days.

How to reheat

Remove the lid from the container and microwave on high for 1 minute or until the breakfast sausage are warm. You may also transfer the breakfast sausage to a microwave safe dish to warm up.
