I bought an RV! Many of you probably found out via Facebook and I promised you an RV tour of my Forest River Cedar Creek 38RTH and now I'm delivering!
Why did I get an RV?
I had so many great adventures in my converted Sprinter Van with Stella all over the country, but I kind of out grew it. Check out my van tour video so you can see how small it was and how it's not that ideal for myself and 2 dogs.
Now that it's no longer just her and I, hello Loki - we needed something a little bit bigger!
Since I'll be working on the road I wanted something with separate living and working space. For this reason I opted for a fifth wheel. It has a separate living area, kitchen and bedroom. At first I really thought I wanted a toy hauler because of that separate space, additional bedroom and bathroom, but I realized we wouldn't be utilizing that space as frequently.
I'd rather have a layout like this that has a garage area under the bed. So much more functional! Check out this post if you want to know the different RV types out there 🙂
This RV is perfect for a full-timer or a family that wants to do long trips. It has the convenience of home, but on wheels. It even has a garage that can fit a golf cart, or electric bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, or a ton of bowling balls and pro shop on wheel haha.

I documented the trip back to Florida, and we loved Guist Creek Marina and Campground in Shelbyville, Kentucky and Anchor Down RV Resort in Dandridge, Tennessee. We spent 3 days in Kentucky smack dab in the middle of the bourbon district. Bulleit Distillery was right across the street from our RV park which was on a gorgeous lake!
And because you know this is a food blog, it wouldn't be right to have a post without some camping recipes. I'm really loving my portable Blackstone Griddle, and below are some of my favorite Blackstone Recipes.
Blackstone Recipes
- Teriyaki Chicken Thighs on the Blackstone Griddle
- Lemon Garlic Shrimp on the Blackstone Griddle
- Pork Chops on the Blackstone Griddle
- Salmon on the Blackstone Griddle
- Asparagus on the Blackstone Griddle
- Blackstone Brussel Sprouts with Bacon
- Zucchini on the Blackstone Griddle
I'm about to invest in a larger Blackstone Griddle for at home and here are some tips for storing your Blackstone Griddle outside.
