Eggnog Ice Cream

Enjoy this delicious eggnog ice cream all year long. While ice cream is often considered a summer treat, eggnog ice cream is a winter favorite of mine.

Since eggnog is so popular around the holidays, it’s perfect to stock up on and make homemade eggnog ice cream! I thought since we drink this during the holidays, that I would try to make this into sweet treat with my Ninja Creami.

And it did not disappoint! With only 1 ingredient, the Ninja Creami made the eggnog into like and creami eggnog ice cream.

The eggnog spices of nutmeg, vanilla will bring about all the cozy holiday feelings. This is a bowl I am happy to enjoy fireside throughout the holidays.

  • Simple Recipe -with just one ingredient this recipe is amazingly easy to make!

  • Eggnog – I got my eggnog from Aldis

Tools to make this easy recipe

  • Ninja Blender – I absolutely love my ninja blender. Not only can you use it for the obvious like smoothies and shakes, but it works perfect for making the ice cream base as well!
  • Ninja Creami ice cream maker – I honestly am in love with this Ninja Creami. Before I bought these extra Ninja Creami Pints I was using it every day. Now I make ice cream in my Ninja Creami in bulk, doing 4-5 recipes at a time. I opted for those pints because they were about half the price, but be weary if you need them quickly, it took about 3 weeks to get here. They did have some prime options, but I was being thrifty.

  1. Transfer the Eggnog to the Ninja Creami ice cream pint and place the lid on tight. Freeze for 18-24 hours.
  2. Once the ice cream base is completely frozen, remove it from the freezer.
  3. Remove the lid and transfer the pint into the Ninja Creami pint holder.
  4. Place the blade into the lid and then place the lid onto the pint holder.
  5. Lock the ice cream into the creami and select either the ice cream or soft serve selections.
  6. If after one round of spinning your ice cream is a little dusty in texture and not creamy, select the “spin again” setting.

How to store

Store your eggnog ice cream in the freezer with the lid on. Mine never lasts longer than a few days, but it should last 3 to 6 months in the freezer. When you’re ready to eat your ice cream, you’ll need to select the ice cream function again to make it nice and creamy and ready to eat.

FAQs

Why is my Ninja CREAMi ice cream crumbly?

Depending on the fat content or emulsifiers in the ice cream, after being spun your ice cream may be crumbly. You can add 1-2 tablespoons of liquid and re-spin and it should have a perfect texture.

Is eggnog melted ice cream?

No, eggnog is milk or cream, sugar, eggs and spices. Ice cream is typically churned and frozen. Eggnog typically isn’t frozen unless you’re making a recipe for eggnog ice cream like this recipe.

Do you really have to wait 24 hours for Ninja Creami?

For best results Ninja recommends freezing the ice cream base for at least 24 hours. I have made ice cream with freezing it only 18 hours with great results.

Is eggnog just custard?

Eggnog and custard are very similar, but they are not the same. They both contain eggs and cream, but their texture and flavor profiles are completely different.
