If you’re tired of having a milkshake type protein shake you’ll love this new Fruit Punch Clear Naked Whey by Naked Nutrition. It’s a great alternative to traditional protein shakes.

The fruit punch Clear Naked Whey is light and refreshing! It reminds me more of drinking BCAAs than drinking a post workout shake! It’s great for an added boost of protein, post workout shake or just helping to meet your protein goals.

My Thoughts on Clear Naked Whey

I love the idea of having a juice-like protein shake versus the traditional milk-like protein shake. They stick to their values of no artificial colors, sweeteners or none essential additives. This is a HUGE win in my books!

Only having 15g of protein per serving wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I use it as a post-workout shake and not as part of a meal or a snack, so I just used 3 scoops instead of 2 scoops which brought it up to 22.5g of protein.

The flavor – it definitely tastes just like fruit punch, that was spot on. The sweetener used, which was fermented cane sugar definitely caught me by surprise the first few sips.

If you’re used to drinking stevia, Sucralose or sugar sweetened protein shakes you might think something is off with it at first. You just need to remember that you’re drinking a juice instead of a shake.

I used to make a lot of homemade kombucha and it definitely reminds me of that. It’s sweet but has a tangy after-taste. It’s still good though! You just have to keep in mind that it’s not a traditional protein shake.

Uses

Clear Naked Whey is an easy way to add additional protein to your diet. If you’re going with just 2 scoops I’d have a small protein snack in addition to it, like cheese or jerky.

Or if you’re having cereal in the morning, have Clear Naked Whey instead of juice for breakfast. For a post workout shake, I’d go with 3 scoops.

Also, having worked as a Dietitian in Long Term Care (Nursing Homes) for many years, this is where I can see it being used as well! There’s not many juice-like protein shakes on the market and many of them are loaded up with sugar and artificial colors and sweeteners.

Many older adults didn’t grow up drinking protein shakes and as we age, we need protein to preserve lean body mass. Appetites slow and we tend to eat more carbs and fat than protein so having a juice-like protein shake might go over well! May also be a good supplement for older adults who are healing from injuries or wounds, with the added protein, BCAAs and EAA’s.

You know I absolutely love Naked Nutrition products! I made this protein java shake a while back and most recently I’ve been making protein ice cream recipes with the Naked Grass Fed Whey.

Check out this Dairy Free Keto Chocolate Protein Ice Cream I just made with Naked Whey. Get ready for a lot more protein ice cream recipes! I may even try to make an Italian ice with the Clear Naked Whey.
