One way to become more productive in your day-to-day life is to start setting goals to get more things accomplished. These don’t all have to be huge goals that need to be accomplished really soon, rather make some stepping stone goals to help you along your way to accomplishing larger goals.
The new year has already arrived and I am already a little behind. This is party due to the fact that I was out-of-state when the New Year began (hello NYC!). Even though I am a little behind, I was accomplishing one of my goals and that was to travel more in 2015, and I made it in the nick of time with 1 day to spare hahaha. It was actually a 2 in 1 goal completion because another goal of mine was to be more spontaneous. My best friend and I spontaneously booked this girls NYE getaway when my boyfriend and I broke up.
What were some of my other personal goals I wished to accomplish in 2015?
1) Travel more (visit New York, California or Washington state)
New York CHECK, California DOUBLE CHECK (San Francisco and NAPA Valley)
2) Read more books
CHECK—I read 2 books by my favorite author Janet Evanovich. Her books are hilarious! I also listen to a lot of books on tape like Game of Thrones while doing sprints on the bike or relaxing at the beach.
3) Become more flexible/Do more yoga
FAILED. I think I only went to 2 yoga classes the entire year. I did buy a new yoga mat too in the hopes it would inspire me to do more yoga.
4) Run a half marathon
I almost have this checked off. I’m actually running my first half marathon Jan 17th (the shark bite half marathon) in NSB. Only bad new is I have been traveling so much and I was sick with a sinus infection for 2 weeks that I haven’t been able to train properly for it so I think I am just going to run/walk the entire thing.
5) Save Money
FAILED. With the breakup and moving back into my own place I haven’t been able to save like I wanted since I am paying the entire mortgage by myself now, plus I have been enjoying myself on some pretty awesome adventures with my new man.
6) Have a professional fitness shoot
FAILED. I’ll get there some day.
7) Expand my consulting business
I have actually put this on the back burner and instead have been focusing more on my food and fitness blogging. I am hoping to one day be able to make food/fitness blogging and private consulting my full-time career.
9) Spend more time with my family
I didn’t spend as much time as I would have liked.
10) Be more spontaneous
Triple check. After only dating my boyfriend for a week, we planned a vacation and bought tickets to San Francisco, CA and booked a wine tour in Napa Valley. Plus the aforementioned New York City trip for New Years Eve with my BFF. Pictures to come so keep an eye out!
Blogging Goals for 2015
1) Become more organized
This is a work in progress. I actually created a blogging binder which I used for the first 3 months and then, umm, yeah I stopped….I think it was a little too overwhelming for me. I need something simple because I get side tracked very easily and then run off on another tangent and BAM 3 hours have passed and I have no clue what I have been doing.
2) Actually use my blogging planner
FAILED. I will be creating my own kind of check off list that is very is simplistic that will hopefully help me become more organized and help me with social media sharing and the sorts.
3) Take better photos for my blog posts
4) Monetize my blog
CHECK! I have finally started to make money with my blog and I have surpassed my goal of just being able to pay for the food I make recipes of. Read my article Why You Should Start a Food Blog to find out how I make money blogging and how you can too!
5) Two Thousand Twitter Followers
CHECK! I now have over 5,000 Twitter followers. You can follow me HERE.
6) One Thousand Pinterest Follower

7) One Thousand Instagram Followers
CHECK CHECK CHECK. I have over 5,000 followers on Instagram
8) One Thousand Facebook likes
9) Make a Fitness eBook
CHECK! I made a my Booty Blastin’ Workouts e-book for my 12 week challenge group. I am currently in the progress of updating it so I can make it available to the general public. I also have a Protein Bar eBook for $2.
10) Have my blog professionally designed (logos, headers, buttons, etc)
CHECK! I am in love with my new theme 🙂
Now that it’s 2016 it’s time for me to start setting goals to get more things accomplished.
This December I was fortunate enough that one of my sponsored posts was liked well enough that the client actually boosted the post on Facebook and I was getting 2000-3000 page views a day for almost a week. How insane is that?! That was the only time I have ever been over 10,000 let alone 20,000 page views in a month. Check out the post HERE.
