Isopure Aminos Review

Isopure aminos
This post was sponsored by Isopure, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

I apologize in advance for my absence. I’ve taken the last few weeks to really focus on myself. I’ve made sure that I’m having kick butt workouts daily, hitting my protein and caloric goals, and getting adequate sleep. One thing that I have started to take before bed time is Isopure Aminos. Isopure Aminos is made with tart cherry which has anti-inflammatory properties that helps reduce soreness. It also has L-Theanine which promotes a calm, relaxed mind, so it’s perfect to take at bedtime.

I’ve only tried the Alpine Punch flavor so far, but it also comes in Cherry Lime and Cranberry Grape. For me, I am used to taking unflavored BCAAs or BCAAs that are made with Stevia, so this one made with sucralose tasted just a little sweeter, but the flavor was mild and not overpowering like some BCAAs that I have had in the past.

Isopure Aminos

I also have tried using the Isopure Aminos directly after my workout when I can’t go straight home and eat a meal or a snack. This way it hold me over and provides my body with the Leucine that it needs to promote protein synthesis.

So what have my workouts been looking like? I have been integrating more running and walking into the mix since I purchased my Shark Bite Half Marathon ticket. This will be my first ever half marathon and I’m excited that it is in my hometown too! It’s January 17th, 2016 so that gives me plenty of time to get my mileage up! If you want to do it with me you can register here.

Athletic Blonde

^^^My current conditioning. I have actually lost 6-7# now since doing my booty blastin’ workout routine, but I have had to adapt it since I started running more.

So basically I’ve combined my workouts so that I do legs twice a week and upper body twice a week. On the days I do legs I add 15 minutes of low impact HIIT cardio such as on the elliptical or bike. On the days where I do upper body weight lifting I do 15 minutes of sprints on the treadmill (15s all out, 45s recovery). Then on two days I have been run walking the bridges (~4 miles) with friends, each time trying to increase the amount of running I am doing.

I can definitely tell that my pace is increasing because the total time is going down, but I need to get a battery for my polar heart rate monitor because mine is currently dead.

On top of taking care of myself more, I have been spending more time with my friends. Just this past Saturday my friend heather came down from Indiana and we’ve been hanging out. We went to the Beachside Tavern with my other friends and saw my favorite local band A TEAM perform amazing covers of 80’s bands. We also hit up out local historic Canal Street for FOOD TRUCKS!

A TEAM

This may be the only day I didn’t hit my macros on point because I love food trucks. I tried the lobster rolls, lobster bisque, banana fosters ice cream, and a bunch of other foods that I wouldn’t normally eat.

Also, on Monday night I went out to dinner with Erica and we went to Norwoods Restaurant and Wine Shop to try their new Tree House section. The weather was perfect, the food was amazing, but DO NOT get their $5 Margarita Monday special. I normally don’t drink, but it was on sale and it sounded good. Nope! I took literally 2 baby sips and no more. DISGUSTING, and the worst part was, the waitress didn’t even comp it. Oh, well. I learned my lesson. Must only get wine at Norwoods.

Down here in Florida we were fortunate enough to be missed by the hurricane, but the shoreline got pretty rough.

Bethune Beach

I went down to Bethune Beach to enjoy a different scenery and the surf was up to the rocks. There was hardly any beach to walk on.

Also, I can’t forget to include a cute puppy picture!

She is getting so big!!!

Now that you are caught up to speed with everything that I have been up to, I’m off to run the bridges with my friend Nicole and I’m bringing my Isopure Aminos with me to sip on during the car ride home.

The cool thing about Isopure Aminos is that it has comprehensive body and mind benefits. It combines BCAA’s with Tart Cherry and L-Theanine. Together they help you make the most of your recovery and hit it harder the next day.

I have added Isopure Aminos to my diet. I add it to my water and sip on it while at work. I was researching products for recovery (I’m training for my first marathon and I strength train at the gym) and I ran across this. I did not know about the calming effects so thought that would be great to take right before bed. I’ve only had it about a week so I do hope it will help me recover faster from my workouts. Thanks for this!

I usually hydrate with water spiked with aminos during strength training workouts. I like the flavored ones, but they do taste pretty artificial.

I used to take them during strength training too! I hate the artificial taste the worst!

I’ve seen these aminos around a lot lately, but I have yet to try them. I used to drink aminos a lot, but now I usually only do if I feel like I need a sweet mid-day beverage haha

I think I might try doing that, like a half serving to curve that sweet tooth of mine hahaha

YAY for half marathon training! It might be my favorite distance. I’ve heard of Isopoure but I’m not working out hard enough these days to warrant that kind of supplementation.

Such a beautiful beach! Where in Florida do you live? We’re planning a surprise trip for the kids to Orlando in April after hockey season and would love to say “hi”.
