So the winter is long gone down here in sunny Florida and the first thing that comes to mind when I think winter is a campfire and campfires remind me of s'mores! I think we literally had 3 days of winter down here and I'm not complaining. I am such a Florida girl, I don't think I could survive anywhere else. To bring back winter without the cold, I whipped up this yummy s'mores protein donut recipe. It's super tasty and you won't even know that they're healthy!
First I need to give a huge thank you to Anthony Collova, President, and CEO of MyOatmeal for allowing me to customize my own oatmeal blends, and pick out different protein powders and powdered peanut butters for this recipe and review.
Being a member of the IIFYM Facebook group and practicing IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros-basically eating all foods in moderation as long as it fits in your allotted protein, carbs, and fats) I had heard of MyOatmeal, but I had never tried it until now....and I'm hooked.
What I like most about MyOatmeal is the almost infinite amount of variations that are possible. From the beginning you choose the size you want, then the type of oatmeal (Ancient grains, steel-cut, old-fashioned, smash blend, gluten-free, farina), next flavors then fruits, nuts & seeds, chocolate chips, optional protein powder, sweeteners, and finally spices! You can even save your blends and have them shipped to you on a schedule if you desire.
For this recipe I used MyOatmeal's pre-packaged S'mores blend and it did not disappoint! I used it for this s'more protein donut recipe and I actually brought the rest of the of the package to work and I have been using it as my afternoon snack. It definitely helps to curve my sweet tooth cravings!
