Hey guys happy Friday!! So yesterday and today I did something that I've been wanting to do for a really long time and it was kind of scary.... I got my motorcycle endorsement! Today was the end of class and...I PASSED!
I had such a great instructor and I was the only female in the class so it was a little intimidating. Luckily my boyfriend's best friend was in the class with me so it wasn't like I was taking the class with all strangers.
If I had any regrets about taking the class, it would be 1) I wish I would have taken it a few years ago and 2) DON'T TAKE IT IN SUMMER!
2 days in this Florida heat (90 to 95 degrees) was brutal! And I had to wear jeans, a jacket/long sleeves, over the ankle boots, helmet, gloves etc. I ended up having a lot of fun and learned a lot. I've basically been on the back of a motorcycle since the age of 19 and that's crazy to think that's 11 years now and I've never driven a motorcycle before.
We actually have 2 bikes, a Harley Sportster and a Harley Road Glide and the Sportster will now be mine to ride 🙂 I'm going to get my endorsement at the DMV on Monday (if the line isn't insane) and I'm hoping to drive the Sportster a little bit that night.
The Road Glide is super comfortable for 2 people compared to before when we were both on the Sportster, but I know my bf will like it even better now that we'll both be on separate bikes. I'll like it better too because now I'll get to be in control LOL
I'm super excited, eventually I want to get a bright pink Harley Road King for myself. We go to Bike Week twice a year here in Daytona, We go to Panama City for bike week, we've gone done to the Florida Keys for bike week before, and we want to start doing more, like Myrtle Beach. My bf and his dad really want to go to Sturgis, but you have to book that like a year in advance because it's like the biggest bike event of the year in the US.
So any-who, onto the today's topic. I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to let you know how I how I celebrated my fourth of July. Well we celebrate 4th of July a little bit early. We celebrated the Sunday before and we took our friends and their two kids out on the boat had a bunch of fun doing tubing and just enjoy the day out on the river.
That night we came back and we grilled some burgers and I made these awesome lettuce wrapped burgers which are totally keto and my bf even ate the wrapped in lettuce too---I think I am slowly converting him!
I'm okay with him not being completely keto. He's mostly following a low carb high fat diet, but he also enjoys his craft beers on occasion which aren't exactly keto friendly. We also eat a lot of anti-inflammatory foods/drinks and avoid pro-inflammatory foods. See this post on the anti-inflammatory diet if you need a little refresher.
One of my favorite drinks that is super high in antioxidants, polyphenols and flavanols is red wine. So we paired our burgers with CK Mondavi and Family's Cabernet which is super yummy.
We celebrated the fourth of July that Sunday because my bf had to work super later on the 4th. I had the house to myself that night, except for the pets and the dogs are petrified fireworks. Stella would not leave my side. She even jumped in the shower 3 times with me!

Yummy. Can't wait to try these.
