  • Easy to make – Just blend, freeze, and spin in the Ninja Creami!

You can pretty much add a scoop of unflavored protein powder to any recipe, as long as it's a high-quality protein powder. I've noticed the isolates tend to work better, but I haven't tried every brand on the market yet. Depending on the fat content or lack of emulsifiers, you may have to give it a re-spin or two for the best texture.

Tips & Tricks

  • Prep in Advance. This recipe takes 18-24 hours to freeze.
  • Have a Deluxe maker? This recipe is made for the original Ninja Creami ice cream maker. If you have the deluxe, simply multiply each ingredient amount by 1.5.
  • Want a thicker texture? Use an extra half-scoop of protein powder or use casein protein powder instead.
  • Enhance the flavor by mixing in fresh cherries or dark chocolate chips after spinning.

Tools to make this easy recipe

  • Ninja Blender – I love my ninja blender. Not only can you use it for the obvious, like smoothies and shakes, but it also works perfectly for making the ice cream base!
  • Ninja Creami ice cream maker – I am in love with this Ninja Creami.
  • Ninja Creami Pints - I opted for these pints because they were about half the price but be weary if you need them quickly; it took about three weeks to get here. They did have some prime options for other pint containers, but I was being thrifty.

How to make Cherry Protein Ice Cream with your Ninja Creami

  1. Blend the ingredients – In a blender, combine the cherry pie filling, Fairlife milk, and vanilla protein powder. Blend until smooth.
  2. Freeze – Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze for at least 24 hours.
  3. Spin it – Place the frozen pint into the Ninja Creami and process using the "Lite Ice Cream" setting.
  4. This recipe if made as directed doesn't require any re-spins. It comes out a delicious "frosty" consistency.

How to store

When freezing the ice cream pint, make sure the lid is on secured and it's placed in the freezer on a flat surface.

What to do if you don't eat the entire pint

If you don't eat all of the ice cream in one sitting, make sure to flatten the top of the ice cream, replace the lid and store in the freezer. When you're ready to eat it again you will need to run it on the lite ice cream function, and respin twice.
