Some days I literally have to drag my butt out of bed in the morning. Don’t kid yourself, you know you have those days too. Whether it’s due to lack of sleep, stress, or just too much going on in your life, we all need that little extra motivation to get out of bed some days. When those days happen, I know I’m probably going to be running late and need a quick and easy breakfast. I don’t want to skip on essential nutrients that my body needs, and that’s where my Wakeup Morning Smoothie comes into play. Recently I’ve been trying to cut down on the amount of animal products in my diet and I was so happy when I was contacted to review the new Mocha Warrior Blend Vegan Protein powder by Sunwarrior.
Have you ever had a Monday that went surprisingly well? Yeah, well yesterday was one of those days.
It started off with a poor attempt to get my butt out of bed. I think I hit the snooze 3 times and turned off every one of my 5 alarms. I crawled into the shower and did my morning routine. Instead of my recent favorite green smoothie consisting of spinach, dark cherries, banana, maca root, macha and chia seeds, I opted for what I now call my “Wakeup Morning Smoothie.”
It starts with a shot of espresso (you can use the instant espresso if you don’t own an espresso maker), followed by unsweetened coconut milk, 1 scoop Sunwarrior’s Mocha Warrior Blend Vegan Protein Powder, 1 banana (frozen or fresh), add a couple of ice cubes and then blend.
Easy peazy and it tastes like dessert, but it’s full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and protein to get your morning back on track.
Now I’m not saying that Sunwarrior’s new Mocha Warrior Blend was the reason why I had a surprisingly good Monday, but you never know. Stranger things have happen!
I liked Sunwarrior’s Mocha Warrior Blend because it doesn’t taste chalky like a lot of other vegan protein powders do and it mixes easily in a shaker cup which is perfect for post workout snacks or when you’re on the go and you don’t have time for a meal. It’s also USDA Organic, NON-GMO, Gluten-free, soy free and has no added sugars.
Some things I did note:
- The mocha flavor is very mild, it tastes like a milk chocolate flavor more than a coffee + chocolate flavor. In a sense I like this because it shines through that it does not have any artificial flavors
- It is not overly sweet. It is made with organic stevia extract. This is my personal preference when it comes to sweeteners so I was delighted when I read the ingredients list and found this amongst them.
- There are only 20 servings per 500g container, so if you’re like me and have protein powder every day, go ahead and get the 1kg container. Trust me you won’t be disappointed. Plus right now their Mocha Warrior Blend is 30% off bringing it down to $20.98 per 500g (20 servings) container which is cheap for USDA Organic protein powder.
- Totally not on the subject, but Sunwarrior has affiliate, influencer, ambassador and contributor programs! I thought that was totally cool. And no they didn’t tell me to write this or even mention this to me. I found this out when I was maneuvering my way through their website.
