Sorry about my absence. Life got a little crazy, but I’m back and in full swing. I stumbled upon this quote on Pinterest and I really took it to heart. Life is always going to throw you curve balls, but it’s how we react to them that makes us stronger.
So, what have I been up to……?? I have to throw it way back to Jan 30th. My friend Amanda and I drove to Tampa where we stayed at her cousin’s house for Gasparilla. That night we went out onto Bayshore Drive and as fate would have it she met a guy and they hit it off right away. Since that day they have been taking turns driving across the state of Florida to see each other. It’s crazy how things like that happen!
Don’t worry mom, this picture was taken in the drive way as we were departing for Tampa 🙂 I know she reads my blog and would freak out hahaha.
And this was from Gasparilla. I’m in the middle, my cousin is on the right and her best friend is on the left (they make me feel young again). I’m wearing Crumby’s pirate hat! Gasparilla is the gathering of thousands of people from all over the US, who dress up as pirates and invade Tampa, Florida. There is a huge pirate ship and about a hundred other boats in the bay. The huge pirate ship even shoots off cannons. There’s also an awesome parade where tons of beads are given out. And of course there are a ton of bars, fraternity and sorority parties and even some huge mansion’s go all out. My friend Amanda went to one where the mansion rented bleachers for the parade and had an open bar!
The next day was the super bowl. We are more of a Fantasy Football type crew and since the fantasy season was over we didn’t make a big deal of the Super Bowl. We just had a quiet day where we went to our friends house and everyone brought a dish. I brought a healthy appetizer which I will post later. It’s super easy and made in minutes!
My workouts for the week were from my FitCrumb Adventure Workouts. The next week is where everything started to get hectic. I came down with some kind of bug. I most likely weakened my immune system from working out and not sleeping enough. I was stubborn and didn’t go to my doctors and then I couldn’t get in to see my doctor before the weekend so she called in an antibiotic for me.
That Friday the 13th was my boyfriends birthday and I was too sick to celebrate it with him. He ended up going over to our friend’s house and luckily it was cool enough that they were able to have a few drinks by the fire. That Saturday was Valetine’s Day, and I gradually started to feel better. We didn’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, but instead we went to a friend’s wedding. It was a beautiful outside wedding and the weather cooperated surprisingly. Florida weather is crazy, it can be a high of 80 one day and a high of 45 the next.
I’m so lucky 🙂
That following Tuesday we drove to Jacksonville where my boyfriend had surgery (planned). He’ll be couped up in the house for about a month recovering. It’s only been a week and he’s already going stir crazy. We had to drive back to Jax yesterday to get half of the stitches taken out and then go back again next Monday to get the rest taken out. I do not miss that drive (1.5 hours). I used to do that every Monday for 15 months while I was getting my Master’s Degree.
You may have noticed my new theme. I’m loving the Foodie Pro theme. Monique from Fantastique Designs did everything and I am in love! I cannot thank her enough! Sunday was the Daytona 500. I did not attend, and I avoided Daytona at all costs. I went to the gym and was quite please when there were only 2 other people there. I had a lot of fun and recorded a bunch of videos of my favorite glute aka booty and leg workouts. I also created a youtube channel so everyone please go there and subscribe to it. I will be posting my videos of my favorite workouts there and I was thinking about creating videos of at home workouts. What do you think. Would that be something you would be interested in watching?
One last thing. I was accepted to become a Fit Fluential Ambassador. I’m so excited. This is my first ambassadorship (is this even a word LOL). I think they fit me well. Fitness, Wellness, and Healthy Eating. Check. Check. Check. I like that they are about forming a community with the same values and encourage each other and others to live a healthier lifestyle.
