I’m back with part 2 of my recap of the Food and Wine Conference that took place in Orlando, Florida at the amazing Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. If you missed part 1 of my recap then you better jump over here and read it so you don’t miss any of the awesomeness that took place!
Last time we met we were talking about the #FieldsFoodies Fun and Desserts. After that we all filed back into the conference hall for an amazing talk about how to work with brands to create chart topping collaborations.
Georgia Peaches shared with us a delicious Georgia Peach Cobbler Smoothie.
Next up were a few more talks on how to become a Social Media Rock Star with Ann Tran & Kathleen DeCosmo and Eat, Travel, Blog, Business with Sandra McKenna, Rachelle Lucas, Wendy Garcia and Rick Griffin.
After that we played a spin off of The Price is Right with some awesome prizes being given away.
After an action packed day we had a little break which I fully took advantage of with a quick nap and a shower before getting ready for Around the Sunday Supper Table Celebration with Certified Angus Beef Brand and Premier Beverages.
Dinner was no different than any of the rest of the amazing conference. We were wined and dined with delicious wine,
fresh gourmet salads,
flavorful and tasty entrees,
and of course endless decadent desserts.
After that we lip synched to potato themed songs in front of green screens, sipped on countless glasses (bottles) of wine, periscope Erica and Sara singing in the empty halls, Julius educating us on what egg drool is, Sarah and I tested out our gymnastic skills (yes I can still do a roundoff!), and some how managed to find our way back to our hotel room around 2:30am.
The next day came way too early, but we started it off right with a Sunday Brunch and Bloody Mary Bar.
Next we traveled to UCF Rosen College of Hospitality. This day was a little different because there were multiple topics going on at the same time, and being a newbie to the whole blogging world I wish I could have cloned myself and attended all of them at the same time!
The first one I attended was The Art of Wine and Cheese Pairings with Cabot Cheese. I don’t really know a whole lot about wine except that I like to drink it LOL.
This class was very informative and I really never thought before this about how different foods compliment and bring out the flavors of other foods.
Next the whole crew met up for the next topic, Beef Shop Like a Chef with Certified Angus Beef Brand. Here were learned the difference between the different grades and cuts of beef.
Next it was lunch time with Out of the Weeds and an Idaho Potato demo.
These potato desserts were so good! I never would have known they were potato based!
After lunch I hit up the seminar with Faith and Julius where they gave us the ins and outs of food photography and how to improve and develop our skills (I really needed this!).
Snack time was sponsored by the Florida Dairy Farmers and you know how I like my ice cream so I loaded it up with all of the toppings!
The final session I attended was all about how to get yourself published and Laura Bashar, Krayl Funch and Stephanie Manley told us their 3 different stories about how they became authors. This was so inspiring and was perfect because it was just what I needed before I released my first ebook.
After that session we all met up for the closing keynote and to say our goodbyes.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I told Erica I would go with her to the Food and Wine Conference, but I’m so glad I did! It was one of my most favorite and memorable weekends that I have ever had!
On our drive back home, we decided to stop at Trader Joe’s for a few things, and since we had never been to SHAKE SHACK, we finally broke down and gave these bad boys a try.
I don’t know how we ate them since we had over indulged the entire weekend, but that was one of the best burgers that I have ever had.
