Wow! Where did the time go?! It’s already Friday! Work has been crazy and I haven’t even had time to blog about what I’ve been up to. So today’s post is a Flashback Friday style where I’m wrapping up my whole week in one (very) long post.
So where to begin??? Let’s take it all the way back to Saturday. Saturday was my first time being out on the bike since my surgery and what better way to spend it than enjoying a beautiful 80 degree and sunny day out on a scenic ride and then stopping to enjoy the Bike Week Festivities. There is so much to do during Bike Week here in Daytona, and unfortunately I was working during the week so I didn’t get to see everything (I’ve been plenty of times before). Each year we try to do at least one thing new, and this year was no different. Remember back in This Post where I talked about a bar named The Cabbage Patch where they have coleslaw wrestling, and before you start jumping to conclusions, no I did not wrestle, but I did watch about 10 girls wrestle in a double elimination style match where the top 4 girls took home money ranging from 250-$1000 <— crazy right (and the girls where wearing clothes and bikinis). The match was supposed to start at 1pm but didn’t end up starting until 2:30pm because they like to drag it out and slowly hike up the cash prizes while everyone is getting drunk in anticipation. I’m going to be uploading the videos to my youtube channel if you want to watch any of the girls wrestling. The girl who won had previously won the 3 or 4 years prior (she was a state wrestling champion go figure), but said that this was her last year. The video below is of the stage and the crowd that surrounded the stage. The people you can hear talking are my boyfriend, his parents and some of my boyfriend’s friends 🙂
Some still shots from the stage.
And you’re going to have to go to my Youtube Channel to see the videos of the wrestling, and you can always subscribe if you like what you see (it’s not all coleslaw wrestling I promise).
So now let’s skip ahead to Saturday night. Aaron and I hosted an early St. Patrick’s Day Party at our house. It probably wasn’t the best decision because we had already been out in the sun all day and our party’s tend to last all night (of course I’m stuck making most of the food). Crumby and Mr Crumby came over and they brought mini taco cups (so good!)–unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the party so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Sunday you can guess what I was doing. Yep, I’m up at 7am and cleaning the entire house and picking up beer bottles from all of the boys. The last few didn’t trickle out of the house until after 3am and they left it looking a mess. We went to Sam’s to stock up on food because you know what Sunday is…..my meal prep day. This week’s meals were:
- 3 shots of instant espresso mixed with Gnarly Whey Protein Powder (Aff link)
- 2 Free Range eggs and 3 links of chicken sausage with onions and pepper
- Grilled thin sliced sirloin strip steaks, broccoli, healthier mac n cheese
- Fat Free Plain Greek yogurt flavored with vanilla, liquid stevia and then I added blueberries
- My homemade banana nut protein muffins (recipe is in my ebook)
- Dinner-is something different almost every night
Monday….hmmm. It’s a blur. Work has been crazy this whole week. Big changes have been happening—for the better. Time will tell, but I am definitely excited about some of the things that have been implemented.
Tuesday was my 2 week post up check up. All is good. I get to start massaging them so that they will drop and form pockets in the muscle for the implants. The doctor said it was okay for me to start walking on the treadmill for exercise. Cardio is not my favorite, but it beats no exercise at all. So if you have any good low impact treadmill workouts, please leave them for me in the comments 🙂 Also It was St Patrick’s Day so Aaron and I and a group of friends went out to some of the local bars for happy hour drink and appetizer specials.
The view from Outriggers Tiki Bar and Grill in New Smyrna is amazing!!!
Some of the boys
Kathleen and I (My long lost friend from when I used to work at the hospital)
The Zombie….made with 151
Yep, another Zombie but this one gets a fancy glass
I cannot remember the exact name of this, but it is goat cheese, tomato sauce, and “crustinis” something like a fried sliced baguette. I don’t really care what it’s called because it was delicious!
And this was my favorite part! This is the beast Bloody Mary I have ever had! It’s topped with olives, shrimp, candied bacon and rimmed with Merlot salt and served with a side of Sam Adams. Just FYI, all of these photos were posted in reverse order. We started off with this bloody mary because why not?!
Wednesday another blur. I had Care Plan meetings and meetings all day at work. I was exhausted after so I came straight home, showered changed and I was in bed by 9:30pm. Unfortunately I tossed and turned all night and work up Thursday morning not feeling very rested.
So Thursday was a double coffee day. I usually have 3 shots of instant espresso in the morning and mix that with my protein powder, or I make a large K cup and then reuse the same K cup and run it through the small cycle and then add protein powder to it. I’m a coffee addict. Yep so after I drank that in the morning, the afternoon lull hit me and I drank a small cup of coffee at work. That is the reason why I am still up writing this post at 11:50pm Thursday because I drank coffee too late into the day and now I cannot sleep. I have a love hate relationship with coffee. I love that it keeps me sane at work, but hate how it won’t let me get to sleep at time (this usually only happens if I drink coffee after 11a/12p. Also I hit the gym today for the first time in about 3 weeks. It felt so good to be there. I started off with these. and then I did some walking lunges and air squats (because I am still not cleared to lift weights), and finished up with 30 minutes of intervals on the bikes because all 4 of the treadmills were in use.
And that’s my week in a nut shell. I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!
