Looking for a scrumptious breakfast to start your day? Whether you're camping in your RV or want a Sunday breakfast at home, making breakfast on your Blackstone will be delicious and easy!
When traveling around the country in my RV, my favorite places to stay were at farms and wineries. I did this through Harvest Hosts. They also have golf courses, breweries, distilleries and churches as well. And don't forget about Boondockers welcome, another service I used to camp for free around the US.
Sometimes, the wineries also own farms, so it was a win-win. I could pick up locally raised pork, beef, and chicken while supporting small businesses and getting a wine tasting simultaneously.
Blackstone Breakfast
Many mornings, I would make breakfast on the Blackstone. The easiest thing to make by far is Blackstone Bacon and Blackstone Eggs. I switched things up and tested out these pasture raised pork sausage patties, and they were incredibly delicious!
Feeling fancy? Why not make these chocolate pancakes for breakfast on the griddle one morning?
Cooking sausage on the Blackstone griddle was so easy! You'll love how the edges get nice and crispy too! I just put down a little avocado oil to make sure they didn't stick!
Ingredients
- Hog Sausage Patties - this cracked me up!
- Farm Fresh Eggs (I picked up many dozens across my travels)
- Avocado oil - so it didn't stick, but you can also use tallow or lard as well
Tips & Tricks
Preheat the griddle: Make sure to preheat the griddle for at least 10 minutes before cooking the sausage. This will ensure that the griddle is hot enough to cook the sausage evenly.
Don't overcrowd the griddle: Honestly, this is tough to do unless you're cooking for a large crowd; you shouldn't have an issue with this. Overcrowding the griddle can cause the sausages to cook unevenly.
Tools to make this easy recipe
I have the 22 inch portable tabletop flat griddle grill station. It’s perfect for the RV travel life! I also picked up the SAMs MembersMark griddle which is 36" and just a fraction of the price of the name brand one and works just as good!
How to make Blackstone Breakfast
- First, preheat the Blackstone over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Then add a little bit of high-heat oil (like avocado oil, tallow or lard).
- Add your sausage patties to the griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until the sausage reaches an internal temperature of 160F.
- When the sausage only has a few more minutes left to cook, add a little bit of oil to the griddle and crack open a couple of eggs. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
What to serve with your breakfast
After you've cooked up your sausage and eggs on the griddle, you can stop right there and have a delicious low carb breakfast. Or, why not add some avocado, hot sauce and even some Air Fryer Peppers and Onions. If you have the Blackstone with the built in air fryer, you can even make the peppers and onions while the sausage is cooking!
How to store
If you happen to have any leftovers, be sure to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. This will keep the sausage fresh for several days.
How to reheat
To reheat sausage, preheat the griddle to high heat. Place the sausages on the griddle and cook for 1-2 minutes per side or until they are heated through.
