If you ask me, The Food Wine Conference (#FWCon) is going to be the best food blogger conference of the year. It’s held at the gorgeous Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida (May 13-15th).
Last year was my first year of blogging semi-consistently, and with encouragement of my friend Erica (aka The Crumby Cupcake), I attended the 2015 Food Wine Conference in Orlando, Florida. Before, attending this conference, I had never been to a blogging conference, so I had no clue what to expect. I had no idea that it would turn into the best food blogger conference EVER!
Yes, I have been to other conferences before, but only ones for continuing education credits from the ISSN (International Society of Sports Nutrition) and AND (The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics). I was in for a culture shock (the good kind!).
Everyone was so nice and friendly! For many this was their first blogging conference and others this was the first of many that they would attend this year. Never, in my wildest dreams would I have thought I I’d make so many friends at a conference where I knew no-one other than my friend Erica.
Like me, so many other food bloggers have full-time jobs and blog on the side with the dreams of making food blogging their full-time careers. We talked and got to know each other well. We learned what each other blogged about, how each other was or was not using social media. I learned all about Periscope and ‘scoped Erica and Sarah singing in an abandoned ballroom at 2am after many a glass of wine. We learned all about taxes for bloggers <— this was so helpful!!! We had so much amazing food and wine. We had so many awesome speakers and demos.
Anything I say about this conference can never convey how amazing it actually was! After the conference was over, I couldn’t wait for next year to come so I could go again! It was seriously the best conference I have ever been to. Food + Wine + great company, what more could you ask for?
This year it is actually falling on my Birthday!!!! May 13-15! Whoop Whoop! Lots of wine for this girl! Also, this time my boyfriend David is joining me. He’s a big foodie too and helps me cook and prep for some of my recipes.
