On Wednesday April 6, 2016 I will be starting a 30 Day Vegan Challenge. This challenge stemmed from David and I creating two huge gardens in our backyard. I thought to myself, I wonder if I could actually survive on just things that I grew myself.
We were a little late on sprouting our seeds so our garden is a little behind in the growing season, but that’s not stopping me from trying to omit dairy, meat and animal derived products from my diet for 30 days (or more).
In addition to getting inspiration from our garden to go meat and dairy free, I stumbled upon The No Meat Athlete’s website. I read his 30 day vegan challenge post and then I found out he has podcasts….life changer! I have been listening to them every day in the car (in reverse order) and at home while I’m cooking and cleaning. Matt and Doug are so inspiring and I have learned so much from them already in the short time I have been listening to them.
Stay tuned. I will be documenting all about my experience of eating vegan. I’ll tell you: where I struggled, what I learned, how I felt during the challenge, and how my exercising changed/adapted on a vegan diet. At the end (or continuation of my vegan diet) I will post a recap and include things that I learned that may help you if you want to test out and see if a vegan diet is right for you!
